When a gunman entered Borderline Bar & Grill in early November, the dance floor was packed with students trying to let off steam. After that night, the 307th U.S. mass shooting in 2018, 13 people were killed and the Thousand Oaks, CA community was wounded. It will take a long time for those college students who survived the shooting to return to normal.

“All I know is we are all still in shock. Then there’s the fires too — nothing is normal yet,” Stephen Maxey, 19, said.
